How to whiten your nails

One of my friends has really attractive finger nails which always look like they have been French manicured. The thing is, she does nothing with them and apparently her mother has the same attractive looking nails. Hmmnn, genetics aside could this be because both mother and daughter are engineers. 🙂 For those of us who are not fortunate enough to have such attractive looking nails, I want to share these tips on how to whiten your nails which will in turn make them look much more attractive with relatively little effort.

Toothpaste
I suggest buying a cheap toothbrush for this one. Simply scrub your nails with toothpaste using your newly purchased toothbrush which will now double up as a nail whitening brush. As well as removing surface stains the nail varnish and rushing action will give your nails a nice shine too.

Bicarbonate of soda and lemon juice paste
Mix 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and mix until it forms a fairly stiff paste. Apply this mixture to each nail and leave it on for at least 5 minutes before rinsing with warm water. If you wish, then before removing the paste, scrub it with your new nail whitening brush.

Denture cleansing tablet
How easy is this? Simply drop a denture cleansing tablet into a small bowl of warm water and once it has dissolved soak your fingertips for 5 minutes.

As a special offer, a box of 28 Sonic Speed Denture Cleaning tablets are available for just £2.99 through Amazon.

Bare all!
I am sure that we have all noticed that after wearing nail varnish for a considerable amount of time that your nails end up stained. I guess this is most noticeable in the summer time when we tend to use nail varnish more than in the winter time. Baring all just means leaving your nails unpolished now and again. This allows the oxygen to reach the nail which helps the nails to maintain their healthy nail colour.
